Hampstead School of Art - Community Christmas Fair

4 Dec 16
On Sunday 4th December 2016, Hampstead School of Art held a Christmas Fair for the delight of all local people. Not only did the Fair provide lots of fun for all the family, it also helped raise vital funds in order to support other small local charities in the community, such as Keates Community Library and Henderson Court.

Stalls at the Fair offered, beautiful silk scarves made by HSoA artists, hand crafted cushions, handmade pens by Valery Wiffen who demonstrated how to create an ink drawing using reed pens, handmade jewellery and Christmas cards. A clay workshop for children and a ‘paint your own Christmas card’ stall was very well received and accompanied an information stall about the wonderful work of U3A London. Festive treats on offer included Mulled Wine and Mince pies alongside a scrumptious lunch which was served in the School’s brand new café.

Keats Community Library had a lovely festive stall offering Christmas Cards and books, Henderson Court older peoples Resource Centre - Age UK, spoke with visitors about their work and gave out leaflets about supporting older people at Christmas.

The tombola was very popular with a wonderful bunch of animal characters donated by Jelly Cat, traditional bottles of festive booze among lots of other donations raising funds for St Lukes Church and Keats Community Library and Henderson Court.

"It was such a lovely way to mark the Festive Season" says Principal Isabel H Langtry “a whole new community is in development on Kidderpore Avenue, a lovely compliment to this very established part of Hampstead, it was great to welcome everyone. This was our second Christmas Fair and is now a firm part of the yearly calendar, many thanks to Mount Anvil for supporting us by sponsoring the Marquees for the Fair"

The Art School also donated high value Christmas Gifts to St Lukes School, The Rosary School and St Dominic’s Primary School.
